“Metaphors” by Keaton Henson.
I met with Kassy and Cris a long time before their wedding when they were back in Perth for a holiday. Kassy knew that planning the Wedding from South Korea where they both live was going to be no easy feat. Cristobal, with his Spanish roots had visions of a huge spread of delicious Tapas to be shared in an intimate, laid back setting filled with family and dear friends. Kassy, who had also secretly learnt her vowels in Spanish, enlisted the wonderful Pretty Willow to transform Alverstoke Barn into a rustic bohemian setting with wooden benches, Kilim Rugs, vintage glassware and lots of native foliage. Tapalicious Catering created a wonderful grazing table of cheeses, olives and Jamon. Every element came together so ( or seemingly ! ) effortlessly it was a memorable wedding for everyone involved. Kassy (who you may recognise from the cover of issue nine) decided to ignore superstition and make her own wedding dress – and, get this – she did it in just four days (yes, days!) “I sourced vintage fabrics from the markets of Paris and French laces which I found in Australia. It is all lace with a small train, lace sleeves and a high neck”, she says of her incredible creation.
