Information - some frequently asked questions
Will you travel to shoot my Wedding ? Absolutely ! Im based in Perth, WA and regularly shoot all over Perth and our beautiful south-west region. Im also always keen to fly out for your wedding adventure ! Do get in touch with me if you’d like to learn more about my destination work. My Bucket list is currently Italy, Sicily and California.
How would you describe your style ? For the most part, I shoot very candidly with a photojournalistic direction. I am a Storyteller at heart, so i go about the day seeking out connections and interactions that will tell your story in an honest way. I tend to find people quite fascinating so this is one of my favourite parts of a wedding. In contrast to this documentary approach i also love to shoot the physical details of each wedding. Each wedding has an underlying aesthetic comprised of things like the styling, florals, location, food etc that all fits together to complete your story. The portrait part of the day is guided just enough to ensure you will look Amazeballs in your images. My work has been described as Organic, Authentic, Warm, Romantic & Intimate.
How long have you been a Photographer ? I have been shooting professionally for 8 years and in that time i have captured 100’s of “i do’s”.
What Camera gear do you use ? I shoot with all digital canon professional equipment. I shoot with 2 cameras and a variety of canon professional lenses and have back-ups to all my gear. Having lots of natural-light to work with is important to me and i will only put a flash on when it gets too dark in the evening.
Do we get to keep the Images ? Of Course. You’ll get a nifty USB package containing a gallery of hand- crafted hi-resolution digital files to keep forever. I edit all my own work with a fine attention to colour and detail. We live in such a digital age i think much of our generation have lost the practise of actually printing out your memories. I urge you to share your story and get those images up on your walls and into albums !
What other types of sessions do you offer ? I also shoot documentary newborn and childrens photography. You can see that work here.
Do you always shoot alone ? I do shoot mostly every wedding by myself. This way i retain control on the creative direction of the images. I don’t feel another shooter is necessary unless you are anticipating having a larger Wedding with perhaps 150+ guests. A Second shooter is available in our A la carte Collection Options.
How many images will we receive in our gallery and long does it take to edit them ? I don’t believe that more is necessarily better. My first collection offers a curated gallery of around 500 images. Your wedding gallery is ready in 6-10 weeks, depending on where we are in the wedding season, current workload etc. I also believe that the editing part should not be rushed.
When and How do we book you ? Couples book me on average 12 months in advance, with the most popular months ( Oct – March ) booking out pretty quickly. I take a retainer of $600 – Ill also get you to sign an agreement between us, after that your chosen date is secure and you can pay the balance at any time before the wedding.
How much will it cost us to have you photograph our day ? Collections start at $4500 for 7hrs coverage. I offer an A’ la Carte system – You choose how many hours you need, then add your custom requirements such as a Pre-Wedding session, Engagement party coverage, Heirloom Albums, or any of our Products to showcase your beautiful Images.
